The third installment of the Hasami-yaki series.
This ceramic product is our unique research and development inspired by rare vintage skull mugs produced in Japan for export to America since the 1950s.
Its unique expression and special double structure are extremely challenging to reproduce in modern mass production, giving a sense of the high level of Japanese craftsmanship from 70 years ago.
With the cooperation of Kikusho-Tohki co., the kiln of Hasami-yaki, we embarked on production, imagining the methods used at the time, conducting glaze development, and spending over three years to complete it.
The fact that each piece has a different pattern after firing adds to the charm of this product, making it a recommended item for display in multiples.

HASAMI-YAKI

"Hasami-yaki originates from Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture, an area known for its high-quality clay that is adjacent to the famous Arita and Imari regions of Saga Prefecture.

The pottery industry in this area has a history of over 400 years, dating back to the Edo period. Although once equipped with a division of labor infrastructure that accounted for one-third of the domestic market share, much of the pottery was distributed under the name of the neighboring Arita-yaki, resulting in Hasami-yaki’s name being less recognized.

However, it’s the solid technical expertise and adaptable approach, cultivated through the continuous production of products relevant to the times, that truly represent the value of Hasami-yaki. Today, the Hasami-yaki brand is highly esteemed domestically and internationally as a traditional craft.
