"The Book of Five Rings (五輪書 Go Rin no Sho) is a book about the art of war, written by Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi around 1645. 

The book consists of 5 volumes: “Earth”, “Water”, “Fire”, “Wind” and “Void” and we have based this series surrounding these motifs. Within this series designs, each model has its own unique denim. The pocket bags are made from light ounce denim and the buttons are specifically made to match the Book of Five Rings. 

The chapter Water of the book describes Musashi's style, Ni-ten ichi-ryu or "Two Heavens, One Style".

It describes some basic technique and fundamental principles. Inspired by the Water volume, this denim is a special 17oz denim in which a true blue dyed thread is interwoven into the warp and the weft thread is dyed with natural indigo....by Samurai Jeans"
