The Strike Gold is owned by Tohru Hamamoto, of the Hamamoto family from Kurashiki, Okayama.

Their jeans are 1950s inspired and produced with Texas cotton, Zimbabwean cotton, and some Brazilian cotton, often as a mix, to great effect, giving The Strike Gold the proper feel and patina of the old school American denim, inspired by cowboy and work wear. Stuff that’s worn to the death.

This is the commitment one makes to this brand. It’s for life. Their denim begins stiff and rough, but soon take its place amongst your greatest fitting jeans, with totally unique fades.

Hamamoto-san says, “If ten people bought the same pair, with time and wear they will become ten completely different versions.”
